RELAX The mind

new East African reggae anthem

The Tanzanian based singer, Mzungu Kichaa, has released a bonafide reggae tune: RELAX The mind. The new video features his Tanzanian band Bongo Beat in true show for renown eclectic high-energy African style that is their signature.Tanzania

Mzungu Kichaa says, This video represents our journey being a band. It was vital that i can get some good with the magic containing developed during live-concerts onto a recorded track and I think we was able to do that about this song. The bridge, which works set a night on fire originated on stage during a night club performance at Operaen in Christiania during our tours in Denmark. The song was recorded within a studio in Denmark basically we were on tour. I really guess this process really represents our journey as a band and the positive energy we've got received from our audience. An energy that we wish to present to the planet through this video.
Relax The mind was shot on location in Dar es Salaam boasting a number of Mzungu Kichaas permanent crew, a few of which are family. They include Director of Photography (DOP) Adam Juma, Video Director Rita Wachera, Artistic Director Jessica Olsen and Producer Louise Kamin.

Mzungu Kichaas debut album TUKO PAMOJA (2009) captured our attention together with his distinctive singing, that was strictly in Swahili. The discharge possessed a big following on the world music scene, particulary one of the African Diaspora and naturally in East Africa. On this technology, the collaboration and among Denmarks top sound engineers, Flemming Rasmussen, who amongst others has produced the first four Metallica albums, has given it that extra edge.

The obscure name, Mzungu Kichaa, this means the crazy white man, has reverberated through the African continent since his debut in 2009. This release saw an award for optimum Upcoming Artist on the African Achievement Awards, a nomination at the Danish Music Awards plus a chair behind the judges table around the Tanzanian form of X-Factor, Bongo Star Search.
As a caucasian male as part of his early 30s making Tanzanian music, Kichaas heritage is most likely probably the most obvious things you can be puzzled by when his lyrics are in Swahili, however most of the other artists he could be encompassed by are natives from African countries. This means no contradiction as his efforts show what is truly vital to making music. Neither along with of the epidermis nor the country you had been born in are relevant. Transporting messages which are not rooted in or certain to a particular space, however that could originate from everywhere and that put a focus on respecting each other and building on the common humanity - without any locality. Kichaa produces a idea of belonging which is all about belonging to people, to your friends and loved ones, and never to some narrow notion of nationality. Belonging as a feeling and not as a possible obvious and logical rationality 's what his music with his fantastic alias represent. - Culture Trip

Jamati Online: You perform in Kiswahili. The fact that was the real reason for choosing to accomplish that?

I picked to produce my debut album in Kiswahili, even though Also i compose many songs in English, because, I want to to show my knowledge and skills in the Tanzanian scene by creating something unique that represented my background and involvement with Tanzanian music. I additionally do not be driven by commercial factors. I'd no expectations from the album when it comes to success or sales. I wasnt concerned with any one that, I recently planned to create. Thankfully the album has become very well received around the world which shows that its smart to adhere to your heart and do what you look for to do and never what the industry expects you to definitely do. - Jamati Online Tanzania
